Design Hotel
In a town with no shortage of historic luxury hotels from Badrutt's Palace with its wintertime Nobu eatery to The Carlton with all its imperial Russian glamour, St. Mortiz gets a new hotel every few generations. Just outside of the main village you'll find a more charming side of the posh Alpine city in towns like Champfér where you'll also find the legendary 2-star restaurant Johri's Talvo. It's also where you'll find the new Hotel Giardino Mountain that opened in late-2011 and immediately become the top design hotel in the region. The 78-room hotel mixes elements of traditional Alpine design with more modern décor and technology than other area 5-star properties without compromising luxury. The property is home to two eateries as well as a bar and more casual café. An on-site spa includes body and facial procedures with products from Aveda and Dipiu with indoor pool built to wow.
The Room
A series of bright and airy guest wings lead to well-conceived interior spaces defined by knotty wood floors and walls adorned with black-and-white Alpine photography that acts as a hologram between living space and bathroom area. Integrated wall units conceal LCD TVs and latest of technology accouterment with bursts of playful design from sheepskin covered stools to plush lounge chairs. Bathrooms feature limestone details and spa details like soaking tubs for post-slope rejuvenation and rain showers adorned in chrome metal details.
